The Rotary
Freindship Cricket
tournament held on 1
March,2009 at
Dahisar Sports
Foundation was full
of fun, excitement
and fellowship. We
fielded two teams
this year i.e. R.C.
Borivli A and R.C.
Borivli Star
(comprising of new
members). Our arch
rivals R.C.Northwest
and R.C.Borivli East
played some
fantastic cricket to
occupy the top two
slots for the final.
The Rotary Club of
Northwest triumphed
to win the
trophy(after a gap
of four years) by
beating R.C. Borivli
East with style.
Other teams Bombay
Kandivli and Mumbai
Dahisar participated
with true Rotary
spirit of
sportsmanship and
fun.
Our players played
with enthusisam and
josh. Our team A was
defeated in the
semifinal due to
huge score set up,
thanks to wonderful
bating of Ramesh
Singh, by Borivli
East. AG Vinod
Thakkar was at his
best with his fluent
and humrous
commentary. PP
Kinariwala, Umesh,
Vijaya Dada, Sanjeev
Shah, PE Manish,
Ashok, Hemang, Narendra,
Ramesh, Nikhil, Ruma,
Bela, Ketal, Jwala
were all there to
cheer the teams.

enthusiastic

fantastic cricket.

star team which will
be distributed in
the upcoming Holi
Hungama meeting
scheduled on 13
March,2009. Rajendran
Unnikrishnan did a
marvellous job of
organizing this
wonderful event. Out
team begged three
man of the match
prizes out of eight
which shows that we
played well but lost
due to some critical
mistakes at critical
time. 22 players and
so many Rotarians to
cheer, you will
agree that we might
have lost as far as
cricket is concerned
but we surely won as
far as fellowship
and friendship are
concerned.
