We, The Rotary Club of Borivli, take pride in the introduction of our Eye Bank par excellence. The Rotary Eye Bank is a culmination of the dreams and efforts of Rotary Club of Borivli, under the supervision & guidance of Rotary International.

The Rotary Eye Bank is an exclusive modern facility situated near the Borivli Station Road, is most conveniently located Eye collection, processing and storage center. With a central location in Borivli, this center will be a boon for the beneficiaries from the western suburbs of Mumbai to Thane. The Eye bank, one of its kinds in Borivli, has a 24- hour Tissue Processing Centre. The Rotary Eye bank boasts of a Konan Specular Microscope handled by an experienced technician, for tissue processing. A Carl-Zeiss Slit lamp for tissue evaluation has also been installed. To meet International Standards, a Laminar Air-flow has been specially installed to maintain the highest level of aseptic standards. A doctor-on-call with an Ambulance facility, for a prompt response, to donation calls has also been arranged.

The Eye Bank is self sufficient with team of doctors, experienced eye collection and processing technicians and supervised by autonomous Rotary Eye Bank Committee co-chaired by Senior Rotarian Vijay Palkar having more than twenty five years of experience in running medical hospital. Eminent Rotarian Dr. Bharat Pandya will render honorary services as advisor. We could get custom and octroi duty waiver on imported equipments due to efforts of our dedicated team comprising of eminent Rotarians.

 The mission of Rotary Eye bank is “VISION AGAINST THE BLINDNESS”. The sole purpose of this eye bank is to spread this motto amongst the citizens for eye donation in Western Suburbs and thus help cure needless blindness.

Financial support is one of the most powerful ways of bringing the gift of restored sight into the community. Your contribution can help us place corneal tissue where it is needed most. It can be the foundation of new and effective means of educating the public about eye, organ and tissue donation. Rotary Club of Davenport (District 6000) has donated 1,17,000 $ to this fantastic project which was used to buy equipments for the eye bank.
