District Governor Dr.
Jayant Kulkarni accorded Gold
Medal with Distinction to President Ashok Shetty and Team
2010-11 at the
star studded SHUKRIYA
function held at
hotel Tulip Star on the eve of 29th
June,2011.
Rotary club of Borivli was
among the top 7 clubs in district 3140 to have received
this highest honor by DG Jayant. Hats off to the
efforts put in by President
Ashok Shetty and Team 2010-11 in
making our club proud.
Largest number of students
adopted, largest Eye donation awareness rally, Four
hugely attended public events including Arbitration seminar,
Ratri Before Navratri, Housing Society Seminar,
Music Clinic were the highlights of the Rotary year
2010-11. Meaningful joint projects with newly formed Interact
club, Rotaract club, RCC and Innerwheel club were icing on the
cake. Excellent fellowship with fun filled Club Picnic,
Nach baliye, Diwali celebrations with tribal students,
Christmas celebrations, Music Clinic ensured
the continuous bonding of new members and their families with
other members.
Our club did exceedingly well
with the continuous projects of our Eye bank, Rotary service
week, vocational training Disha, SS Pandya Vocational loan
scholarship, care for physically and mentally challenged.
We have also hosted important district
event President Elect Training seminar (PETS) and also
recruited three Rotary Youth Exchange students to go in the year
2011-12.
Prompt reporting of events,
start of club facebook, exhaustive website, unique
permanent numbers for president and secretary ensured good
connect with the district and public at large.
