Message from PRATHAM President
ASHISH TAPIAWALA
Dear Friends,
Service to Humanity has been the
cornerstone of Rotary and Inner Wheel since its earliest days
and has been its main purpose ever since.
Current year is a historical year
for RI and also for our District as RI is celebrating The
Centennial (100) year of The Rotary Foundation and our district
is chartered as Dist. 3141 after bifurcating from Dist. 3140,
that way our District will celebrate

Year. Happy to share that Rotary Club of Borivli is now second
largest club of District 3141 and with that comes more
responsibilities. With support of all the members of Rotary are
ready to fulfill given all responsibilities and surpass the
challenges. I firmly believe, I alone cannot change the world
but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.
More hands will help plan & execute Better, Bigger & Bolder
Projects. So increasing membership is first step I want to
summit this year.
During pratham year, we have many
innovative ideas to execute, pratham for our club. We have
re-introduced Club within club idea with new flavour as Tea-20
(Group of 20 members) so that more members can participate in
club activities and involvement of members increases. More
innovative ideas, greater fellowship, more energy, focused
efforts achieved due to this concept. We are marching towards
digitization of the administration by having our club roster
online accessed through mobile App. All communications including
event and greeting notifications also are digital a step towards
save paper. We have many projects planned to spread the
awareness of Eye donation. Mobile App and new leaflet with donor
card are few of them. Diwali Celebration with students of
Ashramshala at Village Govade, a new location, is another
pratham this year. We have organized 4th edition of,
one of the most successful projects, Mumbai Daud on 26th
February, where we are running to support Indian Army.
Vocational courses jointly with Department of Technical
Education and Shri Bhagubhai Polytechnic will be a great boost
in training youngsters in different vocations to help them make
a career in a different field. Supporting District project of
Diabetes Checkup will be well taken by our club to diagnose at
least 500 patients. There are many more projects planned.
Next year will be another Historical
year for Rotary Club of Borivli and Inner Wheel Club of Borivli
when two stalwarts, Rtn. Prafull Sharma will take the charge as
District Governor of Rotary Dist. 3141 and Dr. Madhavi Pandya
will take the charge as District Chairman of Inner Wheel Dist.
